Cheapest gas is in Harrisonburg at the Port Republic St and US 33 exits. There you will find the cheapest gas to fill up at. Based on my experience, between Roanoke and Staunton do have areas that are more than the average price.

i've taken those routes as well, i believe that at US 33 exits the gas is even cheaper, Roanoke is indeed a bit more than the average price, but the resting areas are a bit better as well
